The Source Within
January 2010
Greetings!

What Good Is the Bible Anyway?

First, let us understand that the Bible is not a book of convenience.  It is a book that guides and explains the adjustments that we are to make on this plain of existence.  It is a book that teaches us how to behave and builds personality and character.  It is a book that gives us authority over our life and what will happen when we do not take control of our thoughts and ideas.

The wars are simply a picture or symbol of the wars that go on between our conscious and subconscious mind when things are out of control.

Spirituality comes in degrees according to the Law of Vibration that each individual has set in motion.  The Law of Vibration is the rate or degree of understanding that each person has brought or allowed him/herself to express life.  What you vibrate brings to you whatever you want to know or people that vibrate like you or have set the Law of Vibration in motion according to your understanding and their understanding.

Life is simple, but we have to set it in motion as simple, for each of us has authority over ourselves according to our understanding.  It is always what we understand.  We cannot go beyond that.

If you have a Science of Mind Textbook, you will find on page 271 paragraph 3 that Dr. Holmes states: We can demonstrate at the level of our ability to know.  Beyond this, we cannot go.  But we will constantly expand and increase in knowledge and understanding, thereby continuously growing in our ability to make use of the Law.  Therefore, it is salutary that we awaken as much as we can each day to the Truth of ourselves.

I stated that the Bible is not a book of convenience.  By this I mean that we are to refrain from bringing the Bible to our level of understanding.  We are to rise above what we know today by allowing our mind to be open.  In this manner we will cause our mind to become illumined with the Mind of God.  That way we become illumined this
moment to a greater degree of Truth.  We are to let go of the idea that it is wrong to misunderstand and simply become aware of what it is we are to learn today.

If we do not understand something, tell The Father that Truth seems to be eluding you at the moment.  Ask Him to show you easily and gently the Truth of the matter at the moment.  When it does come give thanks and humbly accept the new Truth-be willing to change.  This is how we grow, how we become wise, aware and illumined.

It is wise to let go of jealousy and the envy that someone else understands before you do or understand more than you do.  It is gratitude that allows us to be thankful that there are others who can show us it is possible to obtain, to be and example for us, which is Truth at a higher level.  Each person is simply working according to their level of understanding-the degree of knowledge that has come to them.  There is nothing wrong with the individual who comes by Truth tomorrow, rather than today.

Have a Joyous Year, Not Just a Joyous Season!

Think First

Do we realize how often we balk about what is happening, what is going on in our world of affairs?  This is one place where the Bible, our Scriptures, our Guide for living can show us that we must be careful about what we ask for at any given time.  Our word becomes our Law.  After all, it was John 1:1 that said, "In the beginning was the word...." And I say, "Who spoke it?"

During the time of Noah, the people balked too about all that was not good.  They were very negative and thought about all things imaginative and Our Father listened and He answered.  He gave them what they asked for and then the people did not want that because it did not match what they were thinking.  Our Father knowing that He had given each person dominion over their life could not force, nor say anything that would deter them from what they wanted.  He had to let it be.  It appears that what we want is what we are thinking.  Do you agree?

He listened again, and again what the people asked for and then what they received did not match their consciousness, what they were thinking.

In other words, we too ask many questions of Our Father and when we get the answer, if it does not match what we are thinking, we balk.  So, it appears what we are really doing is asking Our Father to approve of our thinking, of what we are doing, of our wants and it does not work that way.  It never will.

The best suggestion - if you are not ready to accept the answer, then do not ask the question.  Wait until you are clear.

Remember the old saying, "Be careful what you ask for you may get it?"  That saying is very true.  Sometimes it is "might", "might just", or "may just", at any rate, it appears no one knows who said it first.

May I suggest that you use this year to think before you speak or before you question.  It is wise also to be ever watchful of the ones that you are a companion with on a daily basis.  Often times, you find yourself in predicaments that lead you away from what your intentions were in the beginning.

Our Father gave to us all that you will ever need to bring forth your highest good.  You simply need courage to do it.  Thinking first will support you in whatever courage you may need.

Celebrate the New Year in Joy
Building a Solid House of Thoughts

I awakened one morning with thoughts running through my mind about what we do as a people when we think.  We can compare our thinking processes with the Educational System that runs from Kindergarten to Graduate School for the Academics.

Building a solid house of thoughts is the same.

I said to a Second Grade Teacher once that the odd grades are where new material is taught and the even grades are where everything is firmed up.  Well, the teacher took an offense to this.  However, the thoughts that ran through my mind that morning showed me how important the even grade teachers are and they do not realize this themselves.  The even grades are the grades where a child is either made or broken.

When a construction company begins a house, the preparation for that house is done.  Soil tests, property size, licenses to build.  In fact, all the ground work for the building of that house is done before any work begins where a person can see that a house is being built.  This is the Kindergarten level.

Then comes the foundation.  This is the first grade.  Addition is taught and unless the child understands addition he will never be able to successfully grasp subtraction.  In other words, Reading, Writing and Arithmetic are the basic subjects taught in the first grade.  It continues down the line in this manner.  The important piece that most miss here is that at certain stages, there must be an inspector.  This is where the work is proved to be good.  The grades that are even either make or break a student.  The second grade student learns why it is important to subtract, what is the purpose, what is the good of it?  All this firms up what the first grade teacher teaches.

I had to ask, "For what reason are all these thoughts coming to mind?"  The answer?  Building a House of Thoughts that is solid incorporates the same process.  The Father stated in Psalm  119:4-8 about keeping the Commandments, which has been called by Elizabeth Sand Turner as the Decalogue,  Judgments, rules and laws concerning the social life of Israel and the Ordinances  laws about their religious life,  but do we even understand what these Laws are?

Most of us know the Ten Commandments, but do we really give any credence to them?  I want to point out Commandment number eight: Thou shall not steal.  We steal the ambitions of people, their thoughts and ideas just to name a few not to mention their money and the sad part is that we do not give much thought to it.

Whatever someone has or does, you can do or have also, not by stealing, but by Our Heavenly Father giving each and everyone ideas, ambitions, thoughts, and yes, money too.  Think!  No matter how many people are on Earth, no one has the same fingerprint, lip print or foot print.  Do you not believe that Our Father can give each person here an idea that is different, never tried before and is new?

Build a firm foundation.  Ask The Father to be a part of your life each day.  Ask Him to give you new ideas that you can bring to life and present to His Children and know that what you ask for in the nature of Divine Love will be done.

Jesus said that he came not to destroy, but to fulfill. Let him fulfill your desires today.  Let those desires be pure and loving for the good of mankind to assist in uplifting a person to joy, peace and happiness.
