"I feel like the world is crashing down. I'm a bad mom. I'm about to go insane. Everyone around me is just sitting back and judging me like I'm not a good mom and sometimes I think my daughter would be better off without me!"
These are the words a young mom posted on her facebook profile earlier this week in a moment of despair and frustration. Every parent has felt something like this at one point or another. Most of us have some kind of support system, whether it be a spouse, family, or friends, to turn to when we hit those low points. Unfortunately, many of the young moms I encounter have been left to navigate through the choppy waters of parenthood alone. This is why Youth for Christ's Teen Parents ministry exists. To be that support and encouragement. To make sure the young parents who walk through our doors know that they are not alone. To be the hands and feet of Jesus, serving an often neglected and misunderstood group of young people. To impact lives... TWO generations at a time!
With over 40 teen moms and 6 young fathers currently enrolled, the Teen Parents ministry in Lubbock needs a support system of our own! Now, more than ever, we are in dire need of helping hands and giving hearts. Without a support team of prayer partners, volunteers, and financial donors, we will not be able to continue ministering to the hearts and souls of the many young parents and their children in our city. Will you help keep the doors of Teen Parents of Lubbock open in our community? Something as simple as giving 2 hours or $5 a week can make a difference for eternity in the life of a young mom and her child!
