Duncan Taylor Co Wins Big!
Duncan Taylor Co took home the Independent bottler of the year 2009 Award from the Icons of Whisky. In addition, Mark Watt, the Global Ambassador for Duncan Taylor Co, has won the Young Whisky Ambassador of the year 2009 Award. This is a great achievement for the bright, young whisky expert. Also nominated for the award was Peter Currie from Springbank.
The Gold Medal from the International Wine and Spirits Competition was given to the Duncan Taylor Auld Blended 38 Year Old. This is a stunning whisky that was in the March Newsletter. |
A New Look For Springbank Springbank Distillers has updated their packaging on the flagship 10 year old, 10 year old 100 proof, and 15 year old. This beautiful new packaging along with a redesigned gift box should be hitting store shelves this summer.

Madeira 11 Year Officially In
The Springbank Madeira Wood arrived late last month. We tasted the whisky at first opportunity and it's a fantastic dram! This whisky spent all 11 years maturing in the Madeira Casks which contributes significantly to the sweetness on the nose. After the bursts of sweetness on the initial palate, there are notes of oak and spice.
A reminder this is a small batch and very limited (150 cases in total), so act quickly.
We will send the ratings from Malt Advocate and Spirit Journal as soon as they are available.
