"Please respect the parking restrictions and look out for your elderly and disabled neighbors during this snow emergency."
Greetings!

The City of Quincy has declared its first snow emergency for this winter season.  The Mayor's office in conjunction with the police, fire and public works departments are prepared for the storm but want to remind residents of the parking restrictions and contact numbers for those needing assistance. Also, the Monday trash/recycle pick up will be delayed until Tuesday.

Snow storms are busy for councilors and I will be driving around Ward One calling in streets that need further attention and responding to constituent calls. Please read below for more information. Regards, Margaret
Snow Emergency Information

The City of Quincy has declared a Snow Emergency from noon on Sunday, December 26 to 6 a.m. on Tuesday, December 28. Please follow all emergency parking rules so snow removal crews can do the best job possible.

Emergency parking rules:
Parking is prohibited on designated emergency arteries throughout the duration of the snow emergency. Residents may park on the EVEN-numbered side of non-emergency neighborhood streets. Cars parked in violation of emergency rules pose a public safety risk and will be towed.

For assistance, please call 617-376-1927.

For updates, tune in to QATV, or visit www.quincyma.gov.

How you can help:
·         Assist your elderly or disabled neighbors
·         Shovel sidewalks in front of your house
·         Shovel out fire hydrants
·         Keep catch basins clear to prevent post-storm flooding
·         Move your car off the street
Monday Trash/Recycle pick up postponed
Due to the severe weather, trash collection scheduled for Monday will take place on Tuesday and Wednesday. Households on the regular Monday route should leave garbage and recyclables curbside on Tuesday morning, and Capitol Waste expects to have the full route complete by Wednesday.

All City neighborhoods not on a Monday route will have trash collected on the regular schedule
