"Thank you to the Googlize Quincy team for inviting me to participate in the efforts to promote Quincy in the Google Fiber competition." |
Greetings!
Quincy is a city, rich in history and culture and enthused with great people who take pride in our community. We have two opportunities to improve our City and I ask for your participation. First, Googlize Quincy is a grassroots campaign to bring Google Fiber and updated technology to Quincy. I am proud to support the Googlize Quincy Team and hope you like the video we made to promote our City. Second, the 2010 Census was recently mailed to your home and I ask you to complete the form and mail it in. The Census is confidential and the data is used to determine the amount of government money our community receives and is used for services for children and the elderly, roads, and many other local needs.
Quincy continues with our relief efforts for those impacted by last week's storm. Read on for more information from the Inspectional Services and Public Works Departments.
I've also included some information on events this weekend. The Houghs Neck Community Council has packed this weekend full, with a Parent's Boot Camp - a substance abuse education session, Easter Bunny Fun Day and the New Neighbor Reception. The Holy Name Society hosts a Ham & Bean Supper. I plan attend all of this weekend's events listed below and hope to see you there. Please check out the Googlize Quincy video, but fair warning... the tune is catchy, Margaret |

Census 2010 - Please help Quincy and send in your completed census form. |
|
|
|
Census Information helps determine locations for schools, roads, hospitals, child-care and senior citizen centers.
Businesses use census data to locate supermarkets, shopping centers, new housing and other facilities.
The census determines how many seats each state will have in the U.S. House of Representatives and the boundaries of legislative districts.
The participation of all residents of Massachusetts is vital to the success of ensuring a national complete count. It is particularly important to achieve a complete count in Massachusetts, not only to ensure that we receive our fair share of more than $440 billion in annual funding for vital services, but also because we stand to lose a congressional district.
PLEASE complete the 2010 Census:
Participation isn't just important-it's mandatory.
