We especially like the part about how she is expected to build out a new wealth management platform (to replace the Smith Barney platform).

Dr. Pepper Snapple Group (DPS) is a relatively newly formed company (2008). However, it's large ($5+ billion annual revenues). They are also the #3 soda provider in North America (after Coke and Pepsi).

PepsiCo wants to fully acquire their bottling arm (Pepsi Bottling Group) and PepsiAmericas.  
 
Should PepsiCo complete the acquisitions, they will handle the distribution of about 80% of their total North American beverage volume. This includes their direct-store-delivery and warehouse systems.
 
When we see something like this, we think of one word: Integration. That's because there will be an incredible opportunity to help PepsiCo integrate many of their systems and processes from the acquired companies (supply chain, distributors, retailers, etc.).

1-800-Flowers.com is just shy of a billion dollars in annual revenue. So while not a Fortune 500 company, they are still a solid "name-brand" account most salespeople would like to have as a client.  
 
We like this article because it talks about how 1-800-Flowers.com plans to transition most of its 14 brands to a new web platform (IBM WebSphere) over the coming years.
 
This web consolidation project may present many complementary opportunities for salespeople. The possibilities include: SOA, BI, analytics, customer data, marketing campaigns, customer service, distribution and CRM to name a handful.
