Model Immigrant Integration Practices:

The National Immigrant Integration Conference

Creating opportunities for people interested in immigrant integration to share with, and learn from, one another is an important training and community development goal. The 5th Annual National Immigrant Integration Conference, to be held in Baltimore, Maryland, from September 22 to September 25, 2012, is an example of this goal in action. The Conference will bring together more than 800 policymakers, practitioners, elected officials, government officials, funders, faith leaders, organizers, researchers, business leaders, students, and others stakeholders from across the country to discuss model integration policies and practices. In addition to 8 plenary sessions, featuring well-known experts and leaders, 35 workshops have been planned within these 7 tracks:

  • Educating Immigrants
  • Economic Success for Immigrant Youth and Adults
  • African American and Pan-Immigrant Communities
  • Active Citizenship
  • Receiving Communities
  • We are America
  • Refugees and Asylees

Diversity Dynamics is pleased to have played a role in helping to develop content for the conference through its participation on the National Advisory Committee for the Conference.
