Rebuild Hope Newsletter December 2009
Taking Care Of Our Own
Disabled Iraq & Afghanistan Veterans
And Their Families

This Christmas & Hanukkah, "You Shop.
 They Give."

That's welcome music to my ears, and hopefully to yours, as well.

When you purchase gifts on-line this holiday season - for either others or yourself - more than a thousand well-known retailers like Apple, Best Buy, Home Depot, Lands End, HP and Target will make donation to Rebuild Hope.
And it costs you nothing!

How does it work?

1. Go to the GoodShop web site.

2. Enter Rebuild Hope as your beneficiary non-profit.

3. Select a retailer and you will be re-directed to its website

4. Make a purchase

5. A donation based on the value of your transaction  is sent directly to Rebuild Hope.

Each retailer indicates what percentage of your transaction will be donated to Rebuild Hope. And many offer promotional discounts and coupons through their GoodShop connection.

  • You can take advantage of this fund-raising opportunity all year round.

  • GoodShop offers a convenient toolbar that simplifies their service and lets you track your results.
So please make your holiday gift giving extra special this year by helping our families along the way.

Warmest regards,

Dana Hendrickson

A2Rebuild Hope Update
d sabir Despite the tough economic environment Rebuild Hope made significant progress in 2009, our first full year of operation.  Rebuild Hope assisted more than forty families in fifteen states, broadened our services, strengthened our all-volunteer team, and launched new initiatives to attract more families, donors and volunteers. None of this would have been possible without the compassion and generosity of Americans like you who recognize the value of helping veterans overcome their families' short term financial problems and build healthier, more stable lives. Rebuild Hope aims to more than double the number of families we serve in 2010 and I hope you will support our work.
A3What's Unique About Rebuild Hope

While there are hundreds of traditional non-profits helping military families and veterans in various ways, only Rebuild Hope aims to fully leverage the power of the personal connection made possible by the Internet to deliver financial assistance and related services.
The Rebuild Hope relies on a "one-of-a-kind" service model:
  • Veterans have at least a 50% disability rating
  • Financial support for 6 to 12 months.
  • Financial aid plus coaching and counseling
  • Referrals to specialists in legal aid, VA benefits, heath-care, financial services and employment
  • Donors know who is receiving help
  • Donors can decide who receives their donations
  • 100% of gifts are used as advised by donors
Newsletter Delivery Options
The Rebuild Hope newsletter is distributed to registered subscribers about six times a year unless they request a less frequent delivery. Please send a message to dana@rebuildhope.org to request a different delivery schedule.
