Jeff Meyer PhotoAs part of Capital Public Affairs (CPA) continuing growth, the firm recently brought on Jeff Meyer as a Partner and Executive Vice President.

Considered one of the top strategic communications professionals in New Jersey, Jeff has executed a number of successful campaigns, particularly in the area of issues management, public policy, public education and advocacy.

Prior to joining CPA, Jeff worked as a Vice President with MWW Group. While at MWW Group, Jeff provided advice on government affairs, public relations and lobbying to a number of clients. He also served as the public relations and governmental affairs consultant for the Western Monmouth Utilities Authority, Bowman and Company, and Adams, Rehmann & Heggan Engineers.

"I'm thrilled to join Capital Public Affairs," said Jeff. "CPA is on the cutting edge of the public affairs industry and the service they provide to their clients is second to none. It's something I believe deeply in and I look forward to being a part of."

"I look forward to servicing their clients, expanding their business and strengthening their brand," he added.
CPA Powers Legislative Victory for Mechanical Contractors
In a previous newsletter, we looked at an important legislative effort that CPA was coordinating with the Mechanical Contractors Association of New Jersey. The multi-year effort was a major victory and capped of at a bill-signing ceremony with Governor Corzine. The bill will create energy efficiency savings, increase green buildings and allow schools, government and other public entities to invest in clean, green technologies for their facilities without large up-front costs. Below are a couple photos from the bill-signing ceremony at Governor Corzine's office. Alan O'Shea, Executive Director of the Mechanical Contractors Association of New Jersey, is seen on the left-side of the photos wearing a red tie.

Web Address Image CPA Begins Blogging at WeMoveIssues.com
Leading the way in a new era in communications (CPA) recently created the firm's official blog, located at WeMoveIssues.com.

Social networking tools such as blogs, link sharing and tagging services, and networks like Facebook and MySpace have experienced explosive growth around the world. As web-based tools used to disseminate and share information become ubiquitous, it's essential that government affairs and public relations firms demonstrate their knowledge, skills and ability to navigate the new dawn of user-generated content, social networking and sharing known collectively as "Web2.0."

The blog was created and is maintained by CPA's VP of Public Relations, Cortland Coleman.

"Bringing CPA into the future of communications is very exciting for me," said Cortland. "CPA is committed to being on the leading edge of technological innovations. Ultimately, that commitment provides value to our clients."

Momentum Building to Uncork New Jersey
Wine Bottle UncorkingWine lovers in New Jersey have had their basic consumer rights and freedom of choice artificially constrained for too long. Garden State residents 21-years of age and older should enjoy the same right as millions of people in 36 other states: the right to have fine wine shipped safely, securely and directly to their home from vineyards around the country.

CPA and AmericanWinery.com have partnered to update the wine laws in New Jersey but we need your help! Click here to visit our legislative action center and let your elected officials in Trenton know how you feel about consumer choice in the Garden State. It's time to uncork New Jersey!
