| Eugene Ferraro NCISS President |
Investigation and Security Services have formalized a long standing and mutually beneficial relationship. CALI and NCISS will cooperate on legislative matters at the national and state levels, continue to offer reciprocal advertising in their newsletters and other publications, share booth and exhibition space at seminars and conferences where feasible, and offer discounts to CALI and NCISS members for events. Perhaps the best outcome of formalizing our agreement is that CALI has committed to continuing its generous annual contribution to the NCISS legislative fund to the tune of $10,000 per year when finances permit. This contribution in years past has made a tremendous difference in NCISS' ability to meet its obligations on the legislative front. Our legislative battles are not financed from our general fund, but from the contributions of generous donors to the legislative fund. As we have stated many times, no amount is too small. Each year hundreds of individual donors generously give to our legislative fund. Of course, our association partners from the State Associations Advisory Board and many other read more | | |

ROSEMARIE MESIS
Region 2A Director
Born in Newark, New Jersey into a working class family and a descendent of immigrant grandparents, Rosemarie Mesis's work ethic is evident in every task she undertakes. Rosemarie or as she is affectionally known, "Roe" is the NCISS Regional Director for Delaware, New Jersey, New York and Pennsylvania. Roe reports that if she learned nothing else, it was that you always "show loyalty to those you work with."
Roe, being born in a generation when women were expected to get married and have babies, said that her parents never encouraged her to do anything else. However, that is not the direction that she took in life. She is the co-owner and vice president of the very successful PI Magazine (that just recently went digital, by the way), of PI Gear that offers discount surveillance and supply products, and is the owner of PI Store where it has become her personal mission to introduce a compendium of education and training materials to better inform private investigators. There are over 600 titles in her library store. read more

Colorado Licensing | My friends and colleagues of NCISS,
As you know, the Professional Private Investigators Association of Colorado and its members are strong supporters of NCISS. The PPIAC and professional investigators in Colorado need your help and I want to draw on the strength of my friends on behalf of PPIAC. This is at least the third time the PPIAC is requesting licensure status of private investigators in Colorado - this time we intend to succeed, with your help.
You have each met and set a standard. More importantly, you have each contributed and supported

Denver, Colorado | our chosen profession. The efforts of the PPIAC has been no easy task - with multiple defeats - but this year we see a 'perfect storm' with the defeat of the anti-surveillance bill, and (unfortunately) multiple 'investigators' making the news with their unethical and unprofessional behavior - it has been noticed. But, this remains no easy task and I am asking for your help.
Just before Thanksgiving, the current PPIAC President, Robert Orozco, and I met with the DORA (Department of Regulatory Agencies) policy analyst and had an informative meeting. The issue for DORA: Is there demonstrable 'public harm'? Historically, they have found the 'threshold' (though arbitrary) read more |

Message from
State Association Advisory Board Chair
Driven by ideas, and moving our profession forward. This is the new theme of the State Associations Advisory Board. It's a powerful mixture of challenging the leaders of state associations to share ideas that have made their associations more successful, and brainstorming for new ideas that will move the profession forward.

Gary Brummond
SAAB Chair |
One of those new ideas was introduced at this year's "Hit the Hill" campaign by NCISS legislative chairman Jimmie Mesis, during the SAAB meeting in Washington. D.C. In the November/December issue of PI Magazine, Jimmie elaborated on his "Hit the District" concept by indicating that NCISS will be making it "...extremely easy for you and all private read more

Sloan award to A. Dale Wunderlich of Colorado. Dale is avid NCISS supporter and past president. Established in 1985, The Norman J. Sloan Memorial Award is W.A.D.'s highest honor. The recipients are W.A.D. members "...who have demonstrated outstanding service to the association, and who have contributed their time, energy, leadership and dedication to the betterment of the investigation and security professions." Congratulations, Dale! |
