Greetings!

Good morning! As you can tell by the photo, the family and I just returned from our annual summer trip to Lake Erie. We hope that you have been able to have some time to relax and decompress this summer. We are seeing too many patients and staff burn the candle at both ends.
Please do something for yourself - you've earned it.
Read a book, take a leisurely stroll, catch a baseball game, etc.
What could you do for yourself right now that would make you feel good?

Linda Richmond The Five Second Rule - Fact or Fiction?
Talk amongst yourselves!

We never learned this in medical school, so thank you to the fine people at Loyola for breaking it down in this easy to read article.

*Historical side note - Before she hit it big with Coffee Talk and before wife/kids/and the suburbs on my end - Linda Richmond and yours truly were a little more than Starbucks buddies.
Wooo doggie! That is one handsome woman!

"Good news honey. Looks like Billy Ray Cyrus is the guest WWAD author this a.m."

Number #37
Congrats to our friends at The Hospital of Central Connecticut on reaching 1000 participants last week! The 37th walker who arrived last earned this distinction.
They were greeted with a shower of confetti, 2 dancing bears (Grizzlies) in tutus, and a hug from new Denver Bronco, Peyton Manning. Please click here for the press release. We are proud of Kim Gensicki and her exceptional WWAD team.
Want to kick Alzheimer's in the Grapes?
Thanks Seleen Collins - this article is simple and nicely spelled out.
Suck it, Alzheimer's.
2012 WWAD Intern of the Year - Rachel Ronau!

We are excited to announce Rachel Ronau, Miami University junior, and future physician, has won Intern of the Year. Rachel accepted her award in a quiet ceremony prior to today's show (see left). Rachel has been doing everything imaginable for us this summer.
In addition to a tray with 7 different cheeses, she of course receives the highly coveted I.O.T.Y Parking Spot - the furthest available space from WWAD HQ.
This gives her an early morning 816 step head start on her WWAD Pedometer.
Thank you Rachel - you are a budding superstar!
Do you have time to walk for 10 minutes right now? 20 minutes? 30? When you get back, just reply to this email with your # of minutes. We don't care about distance or speed right now - just minutes.
Congrats to Mass General (www.massgeneral.org) for a very successful first WWAD early this week!
Please click here for all of this weekend's walks!

Sincerely,

David Sabgir
