| Good morning! | |
Greetings!
Good morning is right! Wow. My goodness! Look at you all smiley this morning. What is going on?! Please tell me. Seriously, please share. All right, now you're acting all innocent like you're not doing anything. I won't press, but you look like you are about to have one amazing day. I wish I was having lunch with you today. Holy cow!
Anyway, thank you for spreading the word about us. This week we've had requests to start from an inspirational cardiologist in Stamford, CT (thank you Cardiology Magazine), Pomerene Hospital (thank you Ohio Hospital Association), Hyderabad, India (thank you Dr. Ragaven Baliga), and Tulsa, OK (thanks Dr. F). Because you took time to share our program, together, we are all helping others be regularly active. Really cool - we love it. Speaking of upcoming sites...
As you know, Windward Heart in Oahu is teaming up with Walk with a Doc (we can't ever say that enough). Our staff immediately became fans of Dr. Sonny Wong and the advice listed on their homepage. It's linked here.

What a wonderful world
| |
I see trees of green, red roses too I see them bloom for me and you And I think to myself what a wonderful world. I see skies of blue and clouds of white The bright blessed day, the dark sacred night And I think to myself what a wonderful world. The colors of the rainbow so pretty in the sky Are also on the faces of people going by I see friends shaking hands saying how do you do They're really saying I love you. I hear babies crying, I watch them grow They'll learn much more than I'll never know And I think to myself what a wonderful world Yes I think to myself what a wonderful world.

| The Best Defense is a... | Are you able to complete that quote? If you are, you're like me and watch entirely too much football. We'll get back to that...
Why is it such a wonderful world? Here's why.
We are in charge of our own health. We see hundreds of people in the hospital every month and we know why they are there. Please believe us.
We are in charge of our health and, that, is a very good thing.
Over the last 25 years, way too many of us had been playing defense. We'd play defense while the other team (obesity, hypertension, coronary disease, diabetes, knee replacements, etc.) would drive down our side of the field and rack up a lot of points.
But now, things are changing and this is what's happening (please excuse more football analogies).
For those not following the NFL this year, Aaron Rodgers, pictured above, is tearing up the league (to the extreme that he's even dating Erin Andrews). Anyway, many sports talk show discussions have centered around how to stop Aaron and the seemingly unbeatable 12-0 Packers. The consensus is that Green Bay's opponent needs to create long drives, therefore keeping Rodgers on the bench.
"The best defense is a good offense." - Vince Lombardi
The exact same holds true for us.
Our offense of walking, swimming, biking, and the others can, and will, keep Aaron Rodgers* on the sidelines, unable to harm us. Plus, if we are playing really good offense (walking 15-30 minutes everyday)? We're going to keep the ball in their red zone and we're going to be scoring a lot of touchdowns. Living an active lifestyle, just like scoring touchdowns is fun.** That is how we win 'the game'. That's why Walk with a Doc knows it's a wonderful world.
Have an amazing weekend. We care about you, that's why we write all this <crazy> stuff.
Our best,
Please click here to find all this weekend's walks (this weekend's list is pretty cool). | *Sorry for comparing you to diabetes Aaron, I'm actually a fan.
**Fortunately, coronary disease, stroke, diabetes, etc are a lot easier to beat that Aaron Rodgers.
