Walk with a Doc Newsletter
|
| Greetings!
Good morning! How are you this morning? If you are craving something with gluten this am, you might have to look elsewhere. After completion of a three-year randomized, double-blinded study we are proud to introduce the first ever Gluten-Free Walk with a Doc Newsletter. We recently held a press conference at the local Holiday Inn to announce this landmark decision. We had to make the public aware, but I was losing sleep, worried I was creating the next 'New Coke'. That in mind, I invested a large portion of our capital having our C-suite attend a 10 day retreat led by internationally renowned PR Firm, Banks & Sunderson before facing the press. Yes, THAT Banks & Sunderson. Unfortunately, no one attended...save a member of the janitorial staff preparing the attached banquet hall (had his back turned to us with earphones in). These were the questions we had anticipated, had there been any interest Why did you guys decide to go gluten-free? We had received a disturbing pattern of emails that our board felt needed further investigation. Please expand... If we must. Shortly after reading David's letter, many newsletter subscribers have been experiencing nausea, vomiting, and constipation alternating with diarrhea. Some even with borborygmi (that stomach rumbling noise). At the end of the day, doctors are detectives and we became concerned. These symptoms are identical to those who suffer from celiac disease. Gluten is a protein component of wheat, rye, and barley. You are talking about making an electronic newsletter Gluten-Free? That's stupid. (Pregnant pause) Next question. Why did you pick the 'Bakery' template heading for your Gluten-Free newsletter? (Pregnant pause) Next question That's it your honor. The defense rests its case. But we're not in a courtroom? We're in an empty hotel banquet room. Ugh, I'm so confused. Goodnight Everybody!!

| Do you want Walk with a Doc in your city?
This is a good example from a couple days ago - Julie Dai (Texas Tech med student) just heard about WWAD. She asked a mentor Dr. Smalligan if he was interested (he said of course) and she called us; wanting to make a difference in Amarillo. Toolkit, shirts, pedometers are on the way, and WWAD - Texas is born. It's that easy. Ready, fire, aim and I bet she has a big group within a couple weeks. This is not rocket science, it's a walk in the park. Julie = hero.

Thank you
Thank you for your belief in your program. This is a fun week for us. Thanks to Dr. Richard Kratche and GPIN (www.gpin.org), next week we are off to Minneapolis to introduce/present WWAD to over 60 major medical systems including the Cleveland Clinic, Mayo, Harvard, etc. Our approach is as follows:1. Approach podium, smile, and take deep breath 2. Make sure fly is up3. S peak slowly and clearly 4. Share the dozens of reasons to start Walk with a Doc 5. Under any circumstances, do NOT let them know about the newsletter. Easy as 1,2,3...4,5
Stay Hungry. Stay Foolish. We will see you on Saturday, David Walk with a Doc

"Your time is limited, so don't waste it living someone else's life. Don't be trapped by dogma - which is living with the results of other people's thinking. Don't let the noise of others' opinions drown out your own inner voice. And most important, have the courage to follow your heart and intuition. They somehow already know what you truly want to become. Everything else is secondary." - SJ
