Walk with a Doc Newsletter |
Greetings!
Good morning! Can I just tell you how happy you make us? Last week we signed 150 or so letters that are being delivered to doctors around the country. Letters that are readdressing the need for us all to get out together and stay active. Rock and roll. If you still wish to take part, we are ready for you.
This week WWAD's World Headquarters has taken on a whole new level of energy. Didn't think it was possible? Neither did I.
I asked Kathryn if one of the guys in accounting spiked the water cooler with Grey Goose - nope. Did someone in payroll switch the 7th floor unisex bathroom's hand soap from Cherry Blossom Wash to Pomegranate Scrub? Nope. Has the mail room print of the Brooklyn Bridge always had those blinking lights? Yep. Well then, what is it? Why is everything so fantastic? I'll tell you why. Our hearts are full and so warm (we run the A/C all winter). "Nancy, could you please get me the trashcan. Quickly sweetheart. The doctor is making me sick again."
On Monday alone we had great conversations with champions in Muskegon, MI; Janesville, WI; Rochester, NY, and Tucson, AZ. All have great questions, great ideas, and quite honestly, great phone voices.
This week we are also very proud that two of our board members (Paul Ryan-WI and Dan Boren-OK) each won re-election by landslides. That is re-election to the U.S. House, not re-election to our WWAD Board.
The vote for re-election to the WWAD Board is not until next April. Between you and me, Boren is looking really good. Paul on the other hand - well, Paul needs to catch a couple of breaks.
Congratulations gentlemen and thank you for being great leaders on both sides of the aisle.

This Saturday - in Columbus
A couple of exciting developments. Dr. Patricia Stafford, an expert on female health, kicks off WWAD - Dublin (http://www.walkwithadoc.org/our-locations/dublin-oh/). We are thrilled to have a doctor with this incredible trail-side manner as part of our team (get it? trail-side). Welcome to the team Dr. Stafford!
In regards to Highbanks, we have had a very important person to our program recommend that we go inside this week (24 degrees at Walktime). I won't mention her name but her initials are Megan Bell (my nurse). All those that were interested in staying outside this week, I will be happy to introduce you to her tomorrow a.m.
Seriously, for those interested in staying outside we have great options this week in Dublin (8 a.m.) and Westerville (9 a.m.). For those that choose to be inside, our Franklin Park team is meeting inside Eastland Mall (8:30 a.m.) and the Highbanks team will be inside at Polaris Mall (8:30 a.m. - Food Court).
As always, please check (www.walkwithadoc.org) for the latest or call WWAD World HQ at 614.714.0407. You may even get a contact buzz from the phone call - things are THAT good. |
20 Little Ways to Drop Lbs
I pulled this article from Health.com because I've seen a lot of these tips work with my patients. Feel free to ask your doctor on Saturday what they have found works. Always a good discussion.
