Good morning! Hope your week is going splendid and your summer is off to a great start. I know, I know it's not "summer" yet, but doesn't Columbus have that tropical 'feel' to it?
We are so excited to hit the parks this weekend! We have Dr. Wendy Anderson leading the Franklin Park Conservatory group at 8:30 on Saturday. I am fired up to join the Highbanks crew at the same time on Saturday. As far as the other sites and times (
www.walkwithadoc.org), we are going to make it a just a litttttle interesting this week....
I'm sure we all tried this on our parents when we were little. Parents are in the family room watching TV and we make our move. We sneak into the kitchen pantry unnoticed and peel off all the vegetable can labels. By doing this, we create a very positive situation for ourselves. When arranging dinner, Mom will not know what is in the cans, get frustrated, and throw them away. Or maybe, just maybe, mom gets cute and decides that little David's dinner is going to be "Tin Can Surprise!" - while the rest of the family eats...pizza. Mmmmm! Waxed yellow beans. The stuff memories are made of.
This weekend we are playing a little Tin Can Surprise!...only it's with our doctors.
Wow he really loves those dots. Only it is the
good version. A matter of fact, it's like Tin Can Surprise!...with pies. You show up to the park and you may get Cherry, you may get Key Lime, who knows you may even get Pecan with Chocolate Chips. What you do know is, you will get a doctor who cares about you and wants to join you for a walk. After that fun/easy walk, you will feel better, look younger, be happier, and oh yeah, have taken a huge step in eradicating your risk of getting 40+ diseases. You are in control. 150 minutes a week - it's all you!
Thank you Mr. Archie Griffin, Mrs. Kathy Bickel, and Columbus City Schools for a wonderful afternoon Wednesday. It was an absolute honor to join you. You make us extremely proud.
