Hope things are good back in Columbus. I've been using a different computer and I've been having a lot of trouble with emails going to the wrong people since we got down to Florida. I hope you get this!
Krissy, the kids, and I are having a great time. Charlie stopped picking his nose, so we are all happy about that. The cardiology meetings in Atlanta went great with the ACC. Very cool stuff, I'll share at dinner when we get home. By the way, SO glad we hired the armed policeman (you know the one with the rabid pit bull with 2 heads) to watch our house why we are gone.
Anyway, something very fun happened on our tour of the Edison-Ford estates in Fort Myers. For a half-hour, I thought John Glenn was on our tour. Turns out it is a guy who looks EXACTLY, I mean EXACTLY like Senator Glenn. His name is Bob Hintersburg and as luck would have it, he lives in Wooster from May-October.
For years I've been dying to get John Glenn to lead a walk, but didn't have the nerve to ask him. I asked Bob. Obviously, you can't tell anyone at the walk, but on June 26th, for $150, Bob is going to pretend to be Glenn. He has a really high pitched voice, so I'm making him wear a spacesuit with helmet (he hit me up for an extra fifty). He's only allowed to talk if his helmet is on (will muffle sound). I asked to him to periodically pull down the tinted facemask (just to prove he's John Glenn), but he is not allowed to talk. Only tough issue is Bob has a major prostate thing going on and is not happy at all about the spacesuit. Might need to make some holes. Trying to decide whether to tell the media. It might be a little risky if they want an interview? What do you think? I'm tossing around getting Bob a couple of space and government books ahead of time - we'll see. I hope it's not too hot, I'm going to feel so guilty.
Before I forget, are you going to Highbanks on Saturday at 8:30? Make sure you say hi to Kathryn and the doc. I know they are going to be in the Big Meadows Picnic Area.
Also Mom, check out our new website (
www.walkwithadoc.org). It just went up and Kathryn and John (Brewhouse Media) did an amazing job. I love it!
Anyway, I have to go now. I still need to write tomorrow's Walk with a Doc Newsletter. We'll see you soon.
Love,
Dave
