Just Walk
Happy New Year from Walk with a Doc
Greetings!

Good morning! Hope the holiday season has been a special one for you and your family. Did you make any resolutions for 2010? I did and one thing I've learned is that if you share your goals, they are more likely to come to fruition.   And if I'm for anything, I'm for fruition.  That being said, they are somewhat personal - so please don't laugh.  If you would like to share your resolutions, please feel free to forward them.  Thank you for being a part of our 2009 - we are grateful.

2010 Resolutions

10. Stay within myself, working day and night to maintain a laser-sharp focus on completing a life-long vision

9. Come up with a life-long vision

8. Exercise for 150 minutes or more every week, with the aim of being healthy rather than losing 5, 10, or 25 pounds.  Exercise can treat, cure, or prevent 40+ chronic diseases.  I'm certainly a big fan of being the appropriate weight, but it's primarily the exercise that works the magic.

7. Some way, some how, find a strategy to enable Nick Cage's return to financial solvency.

6.  Take every possible measure to keep our participants and sponsors happy, they are allowing us to pursue our dream.

5.  Finally convince Maldives and its physicians that WWAD-Maldives needs to happen.  The old adage holds true : "If the citizens of Maldives are happy, everybody's happy."  (Note to self: Will need to stay at Four Seasons-Maldives for awhile to make this happen---run this by board.)

4. Wear a pedometer every day so that I can compete with myself and have even more fun getting healthy

3. Finally get rid of my Captain Kangaroo suit.  No matter how bad I want it to happen, Mr. Green Jeans is clearly not interested in coming to a walk.  Plus I look absurd in it.

2. Spend more time in the produce section and less in the snack aisle; this is where the battle is won or lost.  And after spending that much on fruits and vegetables, I'm not going to let it go to waste.

1. Even if a friend asks very nicely, don't agree to run another marathon; it's really, really hard.

This Saturday!

We are kicking off Walk with a Doc's 6th year by invading Polaris Fashion Place at 8:30 a.m. this January 2nd.  Maybe invading is too strong a word.  We will be armed with bananas, hot coffee, granola bars, and blood pressure cuffs, but---by definition---we will be walking. Camouflage jackets are optional.

Please have a safe and enjoyable New Year - we very much look forward to growing with you in 2010 and beyond.

See you Saturday,

David
