Greetings!
Morning! Hope you are doing a better job of staying warm than I am. My goodness. Well, we have lots to share in this week's newsletter. But first, if we could turn down the music and dim the lights for just a second....
We do have a ridiculously bright 2010 sitting in front of us. But let's remember that before all of this national attention, Fleet Feet Columbus (www.fleetfeetcolumbus.com) came to WWAD, believing in our cause and taking a leap of faith in sponsoring us. As we reflect on this incredible year, we thank our initial sponsor and the support they have provided. It has helped us tremendously.

This Week - Polaris Fashion Place
|
|
We're moving indoors tomorrow
There comes a time...when we heed a certain call...to move inside. Sorry, I've been listening to We are the World on loop since Michael passed (yes, I know that was Lionel's part, but thank you). Anyway, tomorrow we are indeed re-congregating in our sanctuary of walkdom, also known as Polaris Fashion Place. The meet-and-greet will be at the northeast corner of the Food Hall, next to the Great Indoors (8:30 a.m.). As usual, we'll bring coffee, water, and food, and sphygmomanometers for checking blood pressure. And---here's something new---we'll be warm! As of Thursday night, the Polaris forecast for Saturday is 72 degrees and 0% chance of precipitation. (You do realize how hard Walk with a Doc - Miami is laughing at us while reading this?) If you have any questions, please direct them to our Director, Kathryn, at WWAD World HQ: 614.357.3054 (I'll be seeing patients; G-d help us all!).

A Capitol Time in Washington, DC
|
|
For those unaware, Walk with a Doc just returned from our Nation's Capitol. We had very productive meetings with Congressmen Paul Ryan and Dan Boren and the staffs of Representative Pat Tiberi, Senator Brown, and Senator Voinovich.
In 2010, with the generous assistance of these great leaders, we fully anticipate a Walk With a Doc Resolution, discussion on the House/Senate floor, and the addressing of one or more Congressional Caucuses. We applaud these visionaries in their acknowledgment of the epidemic before us. Thank you.
After all the meetings, I had a little extra time in Washington.
The Salahis had such a fun time sneaking into the White House for the State Dinner with India, I thought I'd give it a try. So, returning the favor, I sneaked into the Salahis' place. Nice house. Unfortunately, the only proof I have is this picture of their cat (That's not funny Doctor! That's breaking and entering!).
[If you're wondering why I was hiding under the bed with the cat, I'll be sharing exclusive details of my story with OK! magazine for the next issue.]

Thank you for everything. It is cold (in Walk with a Doc/Northern States), but we need to keep active - everyday. Please, please find a way to make it happen.
See you Saturday,
David Walk with a Doc
