Greetings!
Good morning! Krenzel, Grossman, and Wunderlich?
Am I in heaven? Nope, you're at Walk with a Doc.
We are joined by OSU Legend Craig Krenzel, Tennis Superstar Ann Grossman Wunderlich, and U.S. Olympic and World Champion Swimmer Eric Wunderlich. All three are as equally amazing off the field, court, and pool as they are in, or on it.
Please take note that the Highbanks (HIBX) walk has been moved to Sunday at 11:00 (as in not Saturday). We are at Big Meadows Picnic Area - our normal spot (just different time and day). Weather looks to be perfect! We will have plenty of water, coffee, and food.
You know you are going to exercise this weekend - come join our Superstars on Sunday. We also have nurses Molly and Megan checking your blood pressures.
*There will be trading cards of our athletes at the walk that they have politely agreed to sign for you. |

Krenzel!
Everybody's favorite quarterback has returned!
Craig is with us on Sunday!
So why do they do it? Why do sports legends want to walk with me?
First, they like you. They told me.
Second, they know that exercise treats more than 40 chronic diseases. You know which ones they are talking about. If you had a medicine that treated that many illnesses, wouldn't you want to be the one handing it out to everybody?
Third, they know that exercise makes you feel good, and it's easier to do it in a group.
Just promise me this - Craig, Ann, and Eric don't bite - come up and talk with them - that is why they are coming out. |
Ann! Ann Grossman Wunderlich is the best tennis player in the history of the state of Ohio (in this pic she is dismantling Monica Seles on Wimbledon's Centre Court).
She got to that point by doing something everyday to get better. Just like you and your walking. That constant will to succeed led her to 11 years of majors.
That same determination will lead you to control your blood sugar, weight, blood pressure, etc. In doing so, you will feel like a million bucks, maybe even two million to be honest.

Wunder!
Eric has held the World Record in the 200 Breast and in this photo had just won the World Championships in Rome - edging out Johny Weismuller at the line (just kidding, it wasn't that long ago).
Eric has been to the walk numerous times and, as you may know, had been previously banned from Walk with a Doc.
Why was he not permitted to return? I had to deal with weeks of, "Eric is sooo entertaining", "Eric is in such good shape" "When is Eric coming back?" - I had no choice but to ban him.
He's allowed back because (a) I've since matured and can now deal with it like an adult; (b) he is a strong believer in regular exercise for all of us, (c) he's given me a few swim lessons and I now feel bad for banning him.
Great guy who has, like our other aforementioned Hall of Famers, continued to give back to the community. |

As always, bring your medical questions. We are ready for you. Have a great rest of the week.
See you Sunday!

*We are sensitive to the timing being on Sunday, we will return to Saturday on the 31st.
