Greetings!

Good morning.  By now, I'm sure most of you are aware of what transpired with WWAD - Tanzania this past Tuesday.

Although we have no reason to believe that the rhinos singled out our Tanzanian family as targets, we are forced to respond as if they had.

Future pachyderm attacks in the states currently appear unlikely, however we have been put in a position where we are forced to enact global changes.

These rules may appear abstract.  However, until we are more clear with what provoked Tuesday's event, we are asking the following:

1) No participants will be permitted to wear Obsession or any other Calvin Klein fragrances. A designated volunteer will be greeting you as you exit your vehicle. Please exhibit patience - our sniffers are only doing their job.

2) No European Football (American soccer) jerseys will be permitted. Hunter green camouflage Snuggies will be provided to those who do not comply.

3) There now a Zero Tolerance policy in place regarding any discussions surrounding the overall attractiveness, intelligence, or odor of the rhino population as a whole.
These are gross stereotypes regarding an entire group and do not fit with the spirit of Walk with a Doc.

*We fully anticipate that certain groups (e.g. Walk with a Doc - Central Park) may argue these amendments do not apply to them.  I would argue in return that our family in Tanzania certainly did not anticipate this attack.

These changes are global and sweeping in nature in order to protect our Walk with a Doc participants around the world.

Rest assured, our attorneys are working very closely with the IRF (International Rhino Foundation) as we make these difficult decisions.  Thank you for your understanding.

*Level Orange indicates there is a High Risk of Rhino Attack

This Saturday
ACC You know the drill...

Saturday we are at Highbanks (Big Meadows) 8:30; Franklin Park at 8:30, and Market Street in New Albany.  This Saturday at 0830 marks the kickoff of Walk with a Doc - Cleveland Clinic Solon (South Chagrin Reservation)!  I can't wait to hang with our North Coasters (haven't told my wife yet...)

This Saturday's WWADs are an excellent way to get a good chunk of your 150 minutes/week.  In one fell swoop you will reduce your risk of heart disease, cancer, improve your mood, and a million other great things I don't have space to list (rhinos already forced a lengthy newsletter).

Go Bucks!
BrutusWalk with a (Future) Doc - Ohio State

Walk with a (Future) Doc - Ohio State will continue every Wed. at 7pm, rain or shine.  We meet as a group in front of Martha Morehouse Medical Plaza (2050 Kenny Road
Columbus, OH 43220- near Ohio State Campus) and then head across the street to Fred Beekman Park to get our fast-paced walk in.  Medical students will be present to talk about new studies and ways to improve your health, take blood pressure readings, and connect with members of the community.  Everyone is welcome.

This Monday Night!
Are you ready for some talking (then football)?

Tim Flahaven of Fleet Feet Columbus will discuss the importance of the proper attire for walkers: athletic shoes, socks, cold weather gear, sports bras, etc.
Mina Wilson RN will review "safety tips for walkers" as well as routes for walkers in and around Westerville.
Good stuff.
