Walk with a Doc adds Columbus site!
Dr. Wendy Anderson, an inspiring leader, is leading a weekly Saturday morning walk at Franklin Park Conservatory. This 8:30 walk is an excellent option for many. We are very proud to have Dr.Wendy as our teammate as we move forward. Thank you Dr.Wendy for all you do. |

New Study: Exercise Increases MoJo 87%!
(API) Devonshire: A new study published Tuesday (British Journal of Endocrinology & Metabolism) out of Oxfordshire, UK finds moderate to brisk walking (or exercise equivalent thereof) has a statistically significant, profound effect on MoJo (p<0.001).
2,381 males and 2,407 females had an average baseline serum MoJo of 3.6mg/dl.
Levels were then drawn immediately after, 3 hours, and then 12 hours post exercise. MoJo levels increased to 5.41, 6.20, then 6.73 mg/dl before tapering. Surprisingly, MoJo Stimulating Hormone (MJSH) was not suppressed.
Primary investigator, Dr. Leeds Wentworth M.D., PhD., summarized it this way: "This research provides conclusive evidence, for the first time, that exercise bumps your MoJo to levels previously not believed possible." |

Step and Stride
In the words of their leaders...
Step and Stride organizes and plans unique walks geared towards fitness, health, socialization and fun. As a new local company, we are looking to meet and work alongside groups like yours who are committed to facilitating health and fitness through walking. Our shared goal is to create an atmosphere of a healthy lifestyle that is passionate and fun. Hence, Step and Stride organizes events for walkers only. We realize all the positive effects of walking and see the need for more events like this in the Columbus area.
We plan on doing many events in 2010 including a series leading up to longer events (a 10k and 10 miler and even half marathon!) We are really excited about the possibilities and the positive feedback so far on the need for these types of walking only events that bring people together to celebrate for so many personal reasons: meeting a goal, getting physically active, a healthy lifestyle, social connection and many more. The details on our first event are:
