Greetings!
Good morning. We trust your New Year is off to a good start. As we begin 2009, we think that these are also times when we have to reassess.
Reassess what our program is, what our goals are, and how we are going to achieve them together.
In this newsletter we want to take a moment of your important time and share a little of what we are about. Thank you for your understanding of Walk with a Doc.

What is Walk with a Doc?
Walk with a Doc is a large group of doctors, nurses, and community members.
In the cardiology office, we see on a daily basis the marked difference that regular exercise makes in our patients. That is why we had the need to start this 4 years ago.
We simply meet in a park or mall, listen to your questions, provide coffee, water bottles, food, share the medical news that could affect your lifestyle, check your blood pressure, stretch - then of course - walk (at our own pace).
We are motivated by your success and the collective position we have found ourselves in. Together, we have stumbled upon something that is creating new attitudes towards exercise. We are realizing how easy this can be, if we do it together. We are deeply grateful to our volunteers and the unique example we are able to set for the country.
We strongly encourage your input, questions, and participation as we move forward.
As we work together, Walk with a Doc will play a vital role in turning around our country's health.

This Saturday, January 17th - Polaris - Our next walk
We will be meeting in the Food Court to do the aforementioned activities at 8:30 a.m. We are sponsored by Jeryl Lynn with buckets of coffee, water, granola bars, fruit, and lots more. If you cover the upper and lower floors once, it is 1.25 miles. We encourage twice to help take a bite out of your 150 minutes for the week. It's easy, it's like free weight loss - served with a smile.

Walk About Magazine
We will have free copies of Walk About Magazine (out of Portland, OR) for the 1st hundred adults on Saturday. I was honored to be a part of this impressive issue. Pam Granata does a wonderful job - and we want our walkers to benefit from this great periodical. Thank you Pam. |
