There is an energy and sense of purpose that resonates from the streets and buildings; in its people, coffee shops, learning institutions and well educated population. It is through the power of video and photography that we hope to capture and share our interpretation, creating a vision for the future for ourselves and for the larger World. Please take the time this summer and help capture the "Simplicity" of Evanston, and submit your entries to Faces of Evanston. Selection criteria and submission information here. Sherman Plaza Parking Garage Updates Inspection of the Sherman Plaza Parking Garage, located on the corner of Davis St. and Benson, determined that there are minor routine maintenance façade repairs that need to be made in the spring of 2013. The protective scaffolding currently in place can be removed sometime this Jul and rolling scaffolding can be implemented once the repairs begin in 2013. New light poles are being installed to replace poles that failed last year due to high winds. The new poles and fixtures are shorter, have less surface area, are of a smaller quantity and are more energy efficient. More information here.
