Memorial Day Celebration - May 28, 10am

Evanston American Legion Post 42 will host a community reflection and ceremony honoring America's fallen heroes. The annual Memorial Day ceremony will be held at Fountain Square - Veterans Memorial Plaza. In keeping with the time-honored traditions of past ceremonies, there will be non-denominational reflections, singing and remarks by the leaders of local veterans groups. Evanston leaders will offer their thoughts and perspectives on Memorial Day and its meaning. Event info here!

Chicago Ave. Closure between Clark and Church - June 2 
Chicago Ave. between Church and Clark Streets will be closed from 7 a.m. to 8 p.m. on Saturday, June 2, 2012 in order to hoist a new chiller system to the roof of the apartment complex located at 1715 Chicago Ave. For complete details, click here.
Downtown Farmers Market - Every Saturday Through November
Official hours of the Downtown Evanston Farmers Market are 7:30am to 1pm behind the Hilton Garden Inn. Shoppers can enjoy fresh fruit, vegetables, meat, cheese, milk, eggs, flavored oils, pasta, and bakery items, as well as flowers and plants. Free parking is available in the adjacent city parking garage at 1800 Maple Ave.
Evanston Beaches Open Saturday, May 26!
The 2012 beach season will begin on Saturday, May 26! A daily pass or season token must be presented for beach admission. Season beach tokens are on sale now at the Morton Civic Center and all community centers and daily passes may be purchased at beach entrances. For entrance fees and beach hours, visit here!
