DreamLogic Theatreworks presents ELDER GODS

DreamLogic Theatreworks, a non-profit theatre company founded in 2009 is known for creating exhilarating performance events at the bleeding-edge of live entertainment. Now, inspired by modern horror's greatest innovator, DreamLogic presents its most provocative event yet: H.P. Lovecraft's ELDER GODS.
H.P. Lovecraft is one of the great creative visionaries of the 20th Century. Contemporary giants such as Stephen King, Guillermo del Toro, Neil Gaiman, Joss Whedon, John Carpenter and Ridley Scott all credit Lovecraft as inspiration for some of their most iconic work. Without Lovecraft, contemporary science fiction and horror as we know them would not exist.
The production will celebrate its gala opening Friday, February 17 at The Davis, 620 Davis St, in Downtown Evanston. Preview performances will be open to the public Friday and Saturday, February 10 and 11. The production will run February 17 - March 3. Artists Opening Reception for Black History Month - January 29

The Artists Opening Reception for the Black History Month exhibition will be held from 3-5pm on Sunday, January 29 at the Noyes Gallery at the Noyes Cultural Arts Center, 927 Noyes St. This exhibition will be curated by Phillip J. Turner and is collaboratively presented by Fleetwood-Jourdain Community Center and the City of Evanston's Cultural Arts Division. Visit here for updated information!

Evanston Symphony Orchestra - February 5, 2:30pm
| Fireworks from Russia make for a rousing program in the depths of winter, led by ESO Musical Director Lawrence Eckerling. Night on Bald Mountain, Mussorgsky's portrait of a mid-summer's festival of evil eventually yielding to a church bell will be played in the glittering version of Rimsky-Korsakov. Khachaturian's Concerto for Violin and Orchestra was written for David Oistrakh, and virtuoso violinist Bella Hristova is currently acclaimed for her mastery of this score. Shostakovich's Symphony No. 1 rounds out this program.

Caring Connections for Seniors is hosting its "Grow With Us!" fundraiser at Beth Emet Synagogue in Evanston
on April 29, 2012.
Caring Connections for Seniors facilitates Chicago-area seniors' access to and participation in the life of the community by bringing them together with volunteers, community resources and programs and each other.
The "Grow With Us!" fundraiser will feature a silent auction, live entertainment and remarks from Jan Schakowsky, our Congressional Representative in Rogers Park and Evanston. Attendees will also have the chance to mingle and enjoy refreshments.
