New Downtown Evanston Restaurants
|  Todoroki will offer an extensive sushi and Japanese menu along with entertaining hibachi experiences. Signature dishes include tuna tartar and Japanese-style fried chicken appetizers, signature sushi rolls and filet mignon hibachi. To celebrate the grand opening, Todoroki is offering an All-You-Can-Eat special as well as a free California Roll with any hibachi entree. Located at 526 Davis Street, Todoroki will be open every day for lunch and dinner.

Pret A Manger means "Ready To Eat" in name and concept, it is fresh, convenient food - fast. The new Evanston store is located at 1701 Sherman Avenue, and will be open Monday - Friday from 7 a.m. - 10 p.m., Saturday from 9 a.m. - 6 p.m. and Sunday 9 a.m. - 4 p.m, starting January 23. For more information about Pret A Manger, visit www.pret.com. *Pret A Manger accepts the Downtown Evanston Gift Card  Pan-Asian sandwich shop, Soulwich, features food with Indonesian, Burmese, Thai and Singaporean influences. The food includes samplings like Burmese coconut curry, Thai grilled chicken, sesame chili tuna and Singaporean tikka. Salads include options such as tuna rice-itsu, ginger peanut salad and wasabi Caesar chicken salad. All spices are ground in-house, and the bread is baked locally. Soulwich uses hormone-free meat that is locally grown, keeping the restaurant's food as chemically free as possible.  Fleetwood-Jourdain Theatre and Fleetwood-Jourdain Community Center will celebrate the legacy of Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. through music, dance and excerpts from his speeches. The Music Institute of Chicago honors the extraordinary legacy of Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. at  its eighth annual celebration of the legendary civic leader, featuring the renowned Brotherhood Chorale of the Apostolic Church of God. The 180-member male choral group, led by conductor Brian C. Rice, will perform an electrifying program of repertoire offering traditional and contemporary gospel and jazz arrangements. Caring Connections for Seniors is hosting its "Grow With Us!" fundraiser at Beth Emet Synagogue in Evanston
on April 29, 2012.
Caring Connections for Seniors facilitates Chicago-area seniors' access to and participation in the life of the community by bringing them together with volunteers, community resources and programs and each other.
The "Grow With Us!" fundraiser will feature a silent auction, live entertainment and remarks from Jan Schakowsky, our Congressional Representative in Rogers Park and Evanston. Attendees will also have the chance to mingle and enjoy refreshments.

Downtown Evanston provides marketing and management services to the downtown Evanston Illinois district and is a 501(c) (6) non-profit corporation. The district that Downtown Evanston is responsible for is the Special Service Area 4 (SSA4), Illinois' equivalent of a Business Improvement District (BID). Established in 1987, Downtown Evanston is governed by a Board of Directors and works in partnership with the city of Evanston. |
