The Downtown Evanston office will be closed Christmas Eve, Christmas Day and Monday. Those of you looking to purchase the Downtown Evanston gift card as a holiday gift can do so at
First Bank and Trust (820 Church St.) on Christmas Eve from 8:00am - 1:00pm. The Downtown Evanston gift card is regularly available at the Downtown Evanston office (820 Davis St., Suite 151), Monday - Friday from 9am - 5pm and at First Bank and Trust (820 Church St.) Monday - Friday 8:30am - 6pm and Saturdays from 8am - 2pm.  |
Grand Chanukah Lighting & Celebration - December 22
| Evanston's civic, business, and Jewish communities will come together to light the 10-foot Menorah on Thursday, December 22 from 5:30pm - 6:00pm at Fountain Square (intersection of Davis St., Sherman Ave. and Orrington Ave.).
Mayor Elizabeth B. Tisdahl will offer greetings and help in lighting the Menorah. The entire community is invited to the ceremony; there will be refreshments and musical entertainment. Click here or call (847) 869-8060 for more information!

Afternoon Tea at The Margarita European Inn
|  Afternoon Tea is usually offered the third weekend of each month, Friday through Sunday. But for the holiday season, Pensiero and the Margarita European Inn will be serving tea every Friday, Saturday, and Sunday through the New Year. Tea is enjoyed in the Grand Parlor of the Margarita European Inn. This afternoon treat features assorted mini sandwiches, scones and fruit bread accompanied by strawberry preserves, lemon curd and double Devon cream for $24 per person. Tea is served from 1 to 4 PM. Kwanzaa Celebration at Fountain Square - December 27
|  Join your friends and neighbors in celebrating the first day of Kwanzaa at Fountain Square (intersection of Davis St., Sherman Ave. and Orrington Ave.), in downtown Evanston on Tuesday, December 27 at 1:00pm. Vehicle Sticker Deadline Extended to January 5
| The deadline for purchasing and displaying 2012 Evanston vehicle stickers residential parking permits has been extended to January 5, 2012. Residents are highly encouraged to mail in their applications and payment as soon as possible. More information here.

Free Holiday Parking
| Take advantage of Free Holiday Parking in the City's three downtown self-park garages. Garages at Sherman Plaza, Maple Avenue and Church Street as well as Lot 60, located at 1234 Chicago Avenue, will observe free holiday parking through January 2, 2012. Hours of free parking are weekdays after 5 p.m. to midnight and all day on Saturdays and Sundays. The free holiday parking is to encourage people to patronize the downtown area and utilize the convenient parking in the garages for shopping, dining and entertainment during the holiday season.

Caring Connections for Seniors Fundraiser

Caring Connections for Seniors is hosting its "Grow With Us!" fundraiser at Beth Emet Synagogue in Evanston
on April 29, 2012.
Caring Connections for Seniors facilitates Chicago-area seniors' access to and participation in the life of the community by bringing them together with volunteers, community resources and programs and each other.
The "Grow With Us!" fundraiser will feature a silent auction, live entertainment and remarks from Jan Schakowsky, our Congressional Representative in Rogers Park and Evanston. Attendees will also have the chance to mingle and enjoy refreshments.
