COMMUNITY SERVICE
Community service events at So You... have been greatly supported by both NY and NJ! This is really cool. As you know, the community events are free, and So You... supplies not only the time and machines for use during these events, but patterns and fabric, and we are in need of fabric, notions and trim donations.
Please spread the word, ask freinds and family! If you have fabric, trims and notions that you no longer need and would like them to be put to really good use, please call vivian at 201-923-9950 or email at vburns@optonline.net to schedule time for a pick up or drop off.
Your donation is greatly appreciated, without it, we could not continue the FREE community events!

 Sewing Sleepover
In the thanksgiving spirit you are invited to come show others how grateful you are. Mothers and daughters alike can help to create a beautiful doll house with all the furniture and makings to be donated to a woman's shelter.
November 21-23.

Sewing Day Camp
Come join in the fun of sewing day camp where you design and take home projects each day you are off from school.. for just one day or all 5 - Remember, you must call or email to hold your spot! Limited availability.
Monday through Friday, November 3-7, 2008
10 am to 1 pm... Sparkill, NY and Pompton Lake, NJ
$45 each day, including snack.
Also, November 11 (Veterans Day)
10 am to 4 pm in Sparkill and Pompton Lakes
$75, including lunch.

 Sewing and Design After School Program
Weds or Friday at both locations...
Come join the fun for just $100.00 PER MONTH per child! Participants will be creating from 4 - 6 each Friday! Their will be sewing - of course and designing,- and creating each week! but, don't worry, if your child cannot make it for a week or two, they simply come back when they can - we keep a detailed accounting of their classes so we know when their after school month is up and additional monies due!

Cake Decorating Series
No experience Necessary...You too can awe your friends with your new cake decorating skills.
Come join us for the first of a series of classes to learn all the tricks of the trade of decorating gorgeous treats.
The fee is just $50.00 per person. You just need to bring 6 cupcakes! - home made or store bought are fine! Additional materials will be supplied by So You...! You will be learning how to work with icing, how to fill an icing bag, how to write with icing, make stars, shells and four different types of flowers! and finally how to fill a cupcake!

 GETTING READY FOR THE HOLIDAYS.
As the holidays come closer, it is time to start thinking of gifts.
So you... offers GIFT CERTIFICATES, and we do SELL Sewing Machines. So You... recommends the Janome brand ( that our students use in the studio) - these are good strong machines. remember, when you are buying a sewing machine, you need to consider the motor strength, then of course price. Some machines offer many creative stitches, which look like alot of fun, but the motor strength is comprimised in order to maintain the selling price of the machine. What new sewers need - and will always value- is a dependable machine. The Janome 5255 machine will last a lifetime, if kept up with maintenance. So you.. will not only teach the purchaser how to use their new machine, but how to clean and maintain it - if purchased at So You... Otherwise a nominal fee is charged for those bought in other locations!

It does take about 2 weeks for delivery, and full payment is due at the time of the order placement.
