Blessing Blockers ... BIND THEM!
"I call Heaven and Earth to be your witness.
Today I have set before you Life and Death, Blessings and Curses - Choose Life ...(Deuteronomy 30:19)
God wants to bless us! Our church knows this better than any church anywhere. The testimonies abound, so many of us have learned to position ourselves within the will of God. As a result, God has blessed us miraculously, and in many cases, immediately. God wants to bless us!
Some of us are experiencing what appears on the surface as unanswered prayers. Some of us are living with unfulfilled dreams. Why? Because, we don't recognize the "Blessings Blockers" in our lives.
"Blessing Blockers" are those areas in our lives that hinder the movement of God on our behalf. The Number One "Blessing Blocker" is doubt. Doubt causes us to waiver. One who waivers has no firm position or expectation. The Bible teaches us that the doubting person "...is unstable in all his/her ways...and should not expect anything from God."
If we are going to receive the promises of God in our lives, we must first deal with the areas of doubt in our lives. To rid ourselves of doubt, we must learn to believe, and we must learn to pray for faith and pray against doubt.
One man simply asked Jesus to "help my unbelief" and instantly and miraculously his son was healed. Jesus said to another man, "fear not, only believe" and this man also received his blessing.
Pray that God will help your unbelief, remove your doubt, and increase your faith. Doubt opens the door to other "Blessing Blockers" to come into our lives as well. When we doubt, we find it difficult to give. God promises to curse and not bless those who rob the house of God in the areas of tithes and offering.
If your prayers are going unanswered, take a look at your checkbook. Trust God - don't rob Him. Then watch, as God pours out blessings that overflow even your greatest needs and desires.
Doubt also leads to the next "Blessing Blocker" - Unforgiveness. When you refuse to forgive, you block the flow of grace in your life. Remember God will bless you with anything, providing you will use it to bless others.
If God can count on you to extend grace, then God will see you as a constant funnel of grace and favor. The word grace is simply another word for the gifts of God - spiritual, financial, and emotional.
Get out of the past and move into the future. God is waiting to bless you! Get your blessing today! Give up doubt. Give faithfully to God through his Church, and forgive those who have wronged you. Then receive the blessings that God has been waiting to give you!
