Want to save your life?
In 2010, it is expected that 22,000 Canadians will be diagnosed with colon cancer and that about 8,900 of those will die. It doesn't have to be this way.  We can save lives -- maybe yours.

Are you at risk of developing Colon Cancer?
March is Colon Cancer Awareness Month and this is our opportunity to learn how to protect ourselves. Colon cancer can affect people of all ages but there are several known risk factors that may increase your chances of developing this deadly disease. Ask yourself the following questions:
  • Do I have a family history of colon cancer?
  • Have I had prior diagnosis of polyps or early-stage colon cancer?
  • Do I have Inflammatory bowel disease (ulcerative colitis or Crohn's disease)
  • Am I over 50 years of age?
If you answered YES to any of the above, you could be at risk of developing colon cancer and should speak to your doctor about getting screened and visit CDHF.ca to learn more.  We have educational videos, fact sheets and personal stories that can help you make an informed decision.
