Greetings!
Wayne
I think it's appropriate for Mother's Day and Father's Day that this edition of Fresh Ink includes one drawing of a cute critter and one of an old rusty truck.

Rufus and Ol' Blue will be making their public debut at the Wilsonville Festival of Arts next weekend, May 30-31st. As a Fresh Ink subscriber, you get to meet them first! Lucky you! Remember, there's a coupon for you at the end of this email.

Hope to see you next weekend in Wilsonville!

Meet Rufus, Our Chatterbox Friend

"Rufus" by Wayne BriccoListen to my voice in the morning, Lord.
Each morning I bring my requests to you
and wait expectantly.

~Psalm 5:3 (NLT)

Rufus is a Douglas squirrel who lives in the woods at Acrewood. Almost every morning he comes to the feeder to see if the birds have left him any sunflower seeds. He sits in the rhody bush outside the window by my art desk...

On Rufus, I used a watercolor wash with colored pencil over my pen & ink drawing. He took a total of 20 hours to complete; click on the drawing to see a larger picture. If you'd like to see Rufus in person, please let me know! The 8x10" original drawing is $800.*

Ol' Blue, A New Challenge

"Ol' Blue" by Wayne BriccoHe gives power to those who are
tired and worn out; He offers strength
to the weak.
~Isaiah 40:29 (NLT)

While searching out covered bridges in the area north of Eugene, we came upon an old dump truck. I had to take its picture... The challenge was getting the rust and blue paint to look right. I had to...

After completing the pen & ink drawing, I only used watercolor on Ol' Blue; I knew
I needed to avoid the glossy look colored pencils give my originals. Like Rufus,
Ol' Blue took a total of 20 hours to complete. Click on the drawing to see a larger picture and let me know if you'd like to admire this ol' truck in person. The 10x8" original drawing is $800.*
