Marketplace Trend

In 4Q10, for the first time, sales of smart phones surpassed sales of PCs, signalling a sea change for how communcation patterns within organizations are changing.

-- Reported in the 2.14.11 Intelligence Report of the OPA

The growing percentage of Gen Y employees in the workplace who are under 33 years of age prefer to use their handheld devices for a wide range of communication activities. And tech-savvy employees and leaders of all generations are increasing reliant on a mobile device that integrates calendar management, electronic communication, web access, social media and phone communication.

How are you leveraging the high-tech tools employees are already using to disseminate job-related information and promote learning?

While classroom learning experiences are vital to creating an organizational culture that supports the transfer of information and acquisition of new skills, smart organizations are utilizing high-tech tools like the Internet, email and mobile phones to translate knowledge into practice.
