The Principle

Your organization's success in times of unprecedented stress and change depends on your ability to attract and retain talented people who are willing to take on challenges and "grow and learn" their way through difficulties.

Reflection Questions:

  • What percentage of your team demonstrates initiative and perseverance? How many are willing to view problems as opportunities to learn and grow?

  • How often do you meet with valued team members individually to gauge their job satisfaction and identify areas of potential dissatisfaction?

  • How effective is your recruitment and interviewing process in identifying candidates with the right mindset for success in changing times?

 Take Action:

  1. Read Mindset by Carol S. Dweck to identify the characteristics of the "growth mindset" that correlates with success
  2. Contact Forward Focus for assistance in redesigning your recruitment and interviewing strategy to incorporate a growth-oriented focus
