How It Shows Up
We really need the team to move things forward instead of just talking or analyzing it to death. We want to get somewhere in our career, but something or someone is holding us back. We need to innovate to respond to changing market needs -- NOW.
The Principle Delays can be life's way of getting our attention.
Whenever things are stalled, take some time out to:
- Be grateful for what you do have
- Reflect on the larger meaning of your circumstances
- Connect with people at a human level
Reflection Questions:
- What have you been taking for granted? How is that impacting your ability to lead effectively?
- What is causing the delays? What can you learn during the lag time between envisioning something and its implementation?
- Who have you been treating like a "cog in the machine" instead of a human being with aspirations and vulnerabilities like you? How can you show people you value them for who they are, not just for what they do?
Take Action:
Take some time over the Thanksgiving holiday for gratitude, reflection and re-calibration to "True North."
