Make a commitment to becoming even more intelligent

Reflect

Are you as intelligent as you'd like to be? Think back on 2008. How often were you blindsided by unexpected events? Which of your "best-laid plans" backfired? What worked well and what didn't work so well?

Have you ever noticed that some of us are "smart" in one way while others excel in other types of intelligence? When others' opinions differ from your own, do you view the disagreement as a threat OR as a useful perspective from a different type of intelligence?

Would you consider improving your intelligence by adding new types of "smarts" to those you already have?

Take Action

1) Look at the list of 8 intelligences below. Which do you excel at? Which are more difficult for you?
  • Envisioning - the ability to create change through meaningful symbols
  • Anticipating - the ability to see "what if" opportunities in even the direst circumstances
  • Verifying - the ability to learn lessons from past experience
  • Experiencing - the ability to be present to what is happening in the present moment
  • Defining - the ability to use language to clearly define problems and alternatives
  • Planning - the ability to quickly synthesize data into a plan that will move things forward
  • Evaluating - the ability to evaluate whether actions and decisions honor or violate individual needs and values
  • Validating - the ability to get others to work together effectively and harmoniously
2) Make a commitment to develop at least one additional ability from the list above. For more information on how to do so, email us at info@forwardfocusinc.com.
