Reflect

People from other countries often report that their US-based managers and co-workers seem unaware of and even disinterested in their culture. US news is widely distributed in other countries, so people in other countries know what is going on in the US. But how many of us know what is going on in the countries in which our companies do business? It takes a commitment of time and energy to stay abreast of the day-to-day world of employees in non-US offices.

Take Action

1) For each country in which your company does business, subscribe to an online service that delivers news, sports and cultural information from that country to your desktop. Start conversations with colleagues in other countries with a topic from this source.

2) Make a commitment to learn more about cultural differences. For more information about cross-cultural communication services offered by Forward Focus and our strategic partners, email us at info@forwardfocusinc.com.
