Spring has arrived in Haines - flowers are blooming, leaves are out on the trees, kids are riding their bikes, fishing boats are sailing in and out of the harbor, and visitors are trickling in as we all look forward to our first cruise ship of the season.
We're anticipating a great, fun-filled summer this year. Whether you are contemplating a trip to Alaska or have already made your plans, I invite you to visit Haines so you don't miss out on the experience of a real Alaska town.

| Featured Activity - Golfing in Haines | |
The University of Southeast Alaska Alumni & Friends will be holding a golf tournament Saturday, May 22, at the Valley of the Eagles Golf Links. If you are not an alumni member, you may still participate in the tournament by simply paying the entry fee. Club and cart rentals are also available at this little golf course treasure here in Haines.
Surrounded by the snow-capped Chilkat Mountains, you can't ask for a better setting to play a round or two. For more information about the tournament or golfing any other time of the year, email Kathy or Stan Jones or call 907-766-2401. |
| Cruise Ship Calendar | |
The 2010 Haines Cruise Ship Calendar is now available. If you would like a copy of the calendar, stop by the Visitor Center Monday - Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.
You can always view the current cruise ship schedule for Haines on the cruise page of our web site or the CLAA web site where other port calendars are available also. Please check back often for changes to the schedules.
Volunteers needed: We could still use a few more volunteers to drive the Peoplemover Cart on cruise ship days. Only a few hours a week is all that is needed. Have fun and meet people from all over the world! Please contact Angie Robinson at the Visitor Center for scheduling. 907-766-2234. |
| Yukon Trade Show | |
Once again the Haines Visitor Center and the Haines Chamber teamed up to promote Haines at the Yukon Trade Show in Whitehorse, April 30 - May 2. This is always a successful event for Haines to participate in as we like to visit with our Yukon friends as much as they enjoy telling us about all their adventures in Haines!

Haines has a new Facebook page and it is growing quickly in popularity. We are gradually building this page for visitor activity so check back often or just become a 'fan' of Haines, Alaska to keep up on what is going on in our gorgeous little community!
