KOBO NCECA Poster 

A NCECA exhibition of contemporary sake ware highlighting contemporary ceramic artists particularly active in that field. Both Japanese and American potters are featured, representing a wide range of approaches from traditional to decidedly contemporary. Curated by John Dix, Japan.  

 

Artists include, Peter Callas, Jeff Shapiro, Judith Duff, Lucien Koonce, Stephen Mickey, Nick Schwartz, Elizabeth Kendall, Hank Murrow, Kenneth Pincus, Nick Schwartz, Shozo Michikawa, Shiro Otani, Takahiko Kato, Kasumi Ueba, Katsumi Kako, Masahiko Ichino and Hideo Hadano.

" A walk in my garden, a narrative on clay stones"

Barb Campbell is a studio potter who lives in Western Oregon.


She has been handbuilding with clay for over 30 years. Her style and forms have evolved over several years of exploration.  Kobo gallery has represented Barb's pots for many years.


Barb will be presenting a series of clay stones that have been made by paddleing clay over river stones. Once leather hard the stones are drawn on.  This installation invites the viewer to consider all the abundant beauty she observes in her garden.
