Tommer Peterson, creates household gods who watch over our day to day life, they keep our garage door openers working, calm arguments, find lost keys, bring calm when needed, mend frayed tempers and applaud wise choices.
Tommer Peterson has worked in a variety of media throughout his career. This work marks a hairpin-turn departure from the most recent work shown at Kobo and Kobo at Higo.
Peterson studied classical Japanese Calligraphy on an NEA Fellowship with Kazuko Saito in Kyoto and later with Yoshiyasu Fujii in the USA. His work has been exhibited at the Seattle Art Museum, the Henry Art Museum, the Bellevue Art Museum, Frye Museum, COCA, Evergreen State College, The Nordic Heritage Museum, Traver Gallery, Takishimaya Gallery (Kyoto), and the Tokyo Metropolitan Museum. His day job is as Deputy Director of Grantmakers in the Arts.

Mannequins showcase a unique combination of Kimonos made from textiles from around the world.
A special kimono dress-up event,
Saturday, September 11, 2-5pm. Artist, Yuri Kinoshita dresses people up in a kimono all over the world. The event becomes part of the exhibit and can be viewed on kobo's facebook fan page. See photos of the kimono event!

POTLUCK PARIS JEWELRY TRUNK SHOW Saturday, October 9, 2010, 12 - 7pm The Potluck Paris collection features the work of European jewelry designers. Each handcrafted piece of jewelry , made with recycled metals, uses copper, pewter and silver, to make beautiful bracelets, necklaces, earrings and rings. European artisans combine different vintage metals (i.e. flatware and teapots) and then create molds to construct their various creations. See what's new for 2010.

HiiH - say it "Hi Hi" Based in the Alberta Arts District of Portland, Oregon, HiiH creates handmade lighting for residential and commercial applications throughout the country. Lām Quảng and Kestrel Gates specialize in artisanal papermaking and original handcrafted lamps, lanterns, light sculptures, and distinctive lighting solutions of all kinds. Designs encompass sconces, ceiling fixtures, table lamps, standing lamps, pendants, chandeliers - and beyond, to include other furnishings such as screens.
KOBO Simple Cup Show, 5th Annual
