John Dix is a Bizen trained ceramic artist living in Kobe, Japan. The Shoreline Community College Clay Department is bringing John Dix to the Northwest to teach a workshop in February 2010. John is a potter who has been living and working in Sasayama for over 20 years, and has had numerous shows throughout Japan. He has had work published in the Japan Times, Ceramics Art and Perception, and with his most recent article in Ceramics Monthly (November 2009), has become increasingly sought after for his workshops and lectures. In celebration of John Dix's visit to the Northwest, KOBO at Higo is honored to exhibit the work of John Dix at the International District location from January 28 through February 14. There will be a meet and greet the artist event on SET UP DAY, January 28th, from 5-7pm.
Also at KOBO at Higo, on February 13, a gallery talk, sponsored by Seward Park Clay Studio is scheduled from 5-6pm followed by a closing reception for the artist from 6-8pm.
