Northwest Artist, Kazimierz Poznanski
April 10 -May 16, 2009
Reception for the artist: Friday, April 10, 6-8pm
A long time interest in Chinese modernist painters turned Poznanski to paintings on rice paper. His works, mainly monumental landscapes and still life's draw from the Northwest,China and Europe. His work has been shown numerous times and featured in several art publications. Solo exhibitions include the Sichuan Art Museum in Chengdu; Xiamen City Gallery in Xiamen; exhibitions in Seattle and Toronto, Canada.
"Kazimierz Poznanski has a tender eye for the most varied of subjects. He favors landscapes of imposing grandeur or, by contrast, surprising intimacy, but addresses himself to interiors and still lifes and pure (or nearly pure) abstractions. All these Poznanski paints with a rich, gentle palette and, by startling but appealing contrast, a formal rigor derived from cubism." Peter Frank, Art Historian and Art Critic, Los Angeles, 10/08
