Sunday, April 26, 1-3pm
Sunday, May 31, 1-3pm
Join us for two workshop sessions with Ikebana instructor, Megumi Schacher featuring contemporary spring arrangements using Northwest flowers and plants.
The class is open to the beginner or for those with more experience.
Megumi is a member of the Seattle branch of the Sogetsu School of Ikebana and a certified instructor. Session 1: Spring in the Northwest, April 26, 1:00 - 3:00pm The long gloomy winter is finally giving way to spring. Use ikebana techniques to create a centerpiece arrangement using spring flowers and branches, symbolizing the renewal of life and celebrating the season.
$30
Session 2: Using Tall Vases, May 31, 1:00 - 3:00pm Tall vases are challenging. Learn ikebana techniques to fix branches and flowers inside tall vases. No "clump and dump" here -- the challenge is to position your branches, leaves and flowers at angles inside the vase to achieve beautiful effects. (Some ikebana experience is helpful but not required)

Also featuring a special showing of Ikebana containers and vases created by Chris Nielsen in collaboration with Megumi sensei.
