Cornish College of the Arts has been a leader in pioneering innovations in this medium. Sosaku-hanga has been part of the Print Art Program at Cornish College of the Arts since 1970, introduced by Stephen Hazel who studied in Tokyo with Hagiwara Hideo as part of a cultural exchange program through the Rockefeller Foundation.
