Ani Kastan is a ceramic sculptor from Oakland, California. She is currently the Artist-in-Residence at the Red Dirt Studio in Mt. Rainer, Maryland.  Kasten's education includes a ceramics apprenticeship with Santa Kumar Prajapati, Master Potter, Thimi Ceramics in Thimi, Nepal and a ceramics apprenticeship with Rupert Spira, Master Potter, Church Farm Pottery in Shropshire, England. Kasten has exhibited her work nationally. The potter's wheel is the foundation for her work. Her wheel thrown vessels are textured sculptural forms made from clay in its most natural state. The aesthetic of her work is both minimal and modern.
