Greetings Sacred Tribe:
Happy Year of the Rabbit!
As January comes to a close it brings the rumblings of a powerful Spring season just weeks away. Rather then putting ourselves in a mild trance state of endurance to cope with this amazingly challenging cold weather, stay open to the messages the Natural world may be sending on ways to grow within the self in preparation to expand as the spring light gets stronger. Aligning with the inspiring and fiery energies of Imbolc, a Celtic Cross quarter day on 2/2 is a beautiful New Moon to plant our seeds for a conscious evolution of positive growth for ourselves and humanity as well as the beginning of the Chinese Lunar Calendar to imbue our intentions with love.
The power of the Internet was evidenced by the massive outcry concerning the change in the astrological wheel that was said to have shifted each of our signs to the one behind our identified sun sign. After consulting my astro goddess, Brenda Brush I was told to reassure everyone that most of us refer to the astrology map that begins at the yearly spring equinox rather then the constellations-based sidereal practice. I found it so interesting that everyone was suddenly clinging to many of the characteristics and qualities we had once found challenging, with a new-found fondness. While relieved that we dodged a potential call to change, perhaps this trickster energy can be utilized as a teaching moment to look into the sign behind your sign as a means to open to the gifts of a new opportunity to adapt! I was kind of excited to shape shift from a goat to an archer but I was quickly placed back on the side of the mountain. I'm grateful for the companionship of my fellow travelers on this ever interesting terrain on the red road of life.
I am thrilled to open the doors for our Seventh year on the Thirteen Moons adventure. Seven is a very sacred number and is certain to enhance the depth and expansion of our journey to activate and cultivate the sacred feminine core of every woman who comes to the dance. As I look back on this terrain of growth, it truly feels like the ancient seeds we planted in the luminous soil of our beloved Mother Earth rooted and grew into this Grandmother Tree on our Seventh Year. This is made possible by every woman who has come to Thirteen Moons, even to one session, bringing your prayers, dreams, curiosity and energy. Please join us for the re-weaving of our sacred hoop this year. |

7th CYCLE OF THIRTEEN MOONS LAUNCHES JANUARY 2011

As 2011 begins, our seventh cycle around the year long medicine wheel continues with Thirteen Moons. This process honors the spiritual life cycle of a woman by reconnecting as many women as possible, while guiding our understanding that we are part of a deep sacred wisdom lineage simply by being born female. By engaging this path-finding process in the company of like-hearted women, we create a sisterhood of witnesses, teachers, and mirrors.
The first session of Thirteen Moons is complimentary so the process can be sampled before committing to the series. If you know anyone that would benefit from this series (friends, sisters, co-workers) or seemed curious about your evolution, this is a gentle introduction to the work. We also welcome any Thirteen Moons alumni to return at a reduced rate of $45 per session.

Reserve your spot by calling: 312-276-1212 or email info@rabyinstitute.com. Cost is $160.00 for the four part workshop series. $40.00 non refundable deposit required to reserve a space.
"Learning to view stress as part of life means we accept that life is dynamic and ever changing. Finding a way to move through our world from a neutral open perspective, requires that we put the pause button on the reactive patterning and breathe into a new viewpoint that supports a fundamental understanding: how we think is how we feel. But how we think is informed by many facets, mostly from prior experiences and cultural mindsets. While we may believe the mind to be rational, in fact it is more influenced by external stimuli then the authentic heart, which holds the key to our deeper knowing free of fear." - Susan A. Lipshutz, LCSW

WORDS FROM OUR SISTERS
At our recent January Thirteen Moons gathering, we were honored by the presence of Emily's grandmother, who came all the way from Indiana to share her wisdom with us.
"Bringing my grandmother to the final thirteen moon session of this past year's cycle was nothing less than perfect. The group has become a warm family of sisters to me, and we have all grown together during this past year. I am so proud I could share my grandmother's energy with everyone present, and not present at the final session. One thing that I will always keep in the forefront of my mind is to live each day, and "ride the rainbow" as my grandmother said. And I certainly do not intend to do anything less than that.
Many thanks and much love to all of you."
- Emily and her grandma (Harriet)
