As part of the Learning Community Conversations on Thurs. at 3:30, I will be facilitator for  "
Exploring Interactivity in Live Performance for Young Audiences" in the Ferguson Hall Donor Lounge. Please sign up and stop by if it is a topic that interests you. When we tour, we almost always work in the schools or with students from the community we are in as outreach. The Patchwork Girl of Oz actually can use up to 26 children, and we are creating a section in the new The Better To Bite You With for children. As it is now, there is one participatory section that we work with 4 children just before the performance where they join us on stage, and many places for the whole audience to interact with both words and movement. Above are some of our Patchwork Girl student volunteer "Joking Horners" resting backstage before their second show. You can probably guess why L. Frank Baum, the author of the book, named the group "Horners".

We have worked with hundreds of schools in CA and when we tour.  On our web site under education is information and photos about our school services including performances, workshops, and professional staff development. Programs and Repertory takes you to materials about our dances.
