DANCE APPLICATIONS FOR THE TRI ART FESTIVAL
The fourth Annual TriArt Festival will take place September
11/12th, 2010 along Mesa Street in historic downtown San Pedro. For more about
the Festival please see their web site at: http://www.triartfestival.com.
There is an interest in all dance forms performed by
professional companies including traditional ballet and modern as well as
ethnic dance forms and hip-hop. This is for an outdoor stage approximately 36 x 30 feet. Each set will be 15-30 minutes. It is a showcase (no funds for the dancers).

AFFILIATED SHOWCASE AT THE WESTERN ARTS ALLIANCE (WAA) WEEK OF 8/30/10
This year the annual WAA Conference will be in Long Beach the week of 8/30/10. There is no juried dance this year, so I have moved ahead to put a hold on the Knoebel Theater at Cal State Long Beach for an Affiliated Showcase, probably on Wed. nite 9/1/10. To get the most out of this, companies should be members of WAA or represented by an agency who is represented at the conference. But you don't have to. It is a good chance to be seen by presenters from the 13 western states who might present your company.
As those of you know who have showcased in the past, there is a fee and it would include the theatre & tech, transportation from the hotel to the theatre for the audience, and a reception table at the theatre. The setting should be quite good, the distance from the hotel, not ideal. If anyone knows of a comparable setting in a location close to the hotel, please let me know. Contact Louise Reichlin by email or call 213-385-1171 to discuss. I need to know of interest by the end of the month.
