Contemporary
dancers with modern, ballet and jazz background, strong stage presence,
expressiveness, musicality, and technique. Floor work important. Rehearsal
schedule is selected from Tues/Thurs/Sun mornings from 10-1 depending on which
projects you are in. Besides general repertory, there are several parts
available in The Better To Bite You With, a new dance/multimedia work for
families and children loosely based on Little Red Riding Hood. Dancers sometimes
rotate parts, so see cast breakdown on our web-site, LAChoreographersAndDancers.org and click on auditions. Many of the new works have interactive elements as part of the performance.

The
newest work, The Better to Bite You With, was presented in December by the City
of Fontana. In November the company performed Dance At the Stone House, a site specific work (see review) and traveled for school performances to
San Luis Obispo. In September we performed again at the TriArt Festival in San
Pedro, this year doing selections from The Tennis Dances. Louise Reichlin & Dancers also
works in partnership with schools in the Los Angeles area providing
performances, staff development training for teachers and residency workshops
with children. The company, a performing unit of Los Angeles Choreographers
& Dancers, was founded by Louise Reichlin in 1979. She has created more
than 80 works, both for the company as well as for plays and operas.
Other works
from the repertory include The Patchwork Girl of Oz and The E-Mail Dances (dance/multimedia), Urban and Tribal Dances, and Gimbdu Dance Suite. See company videos for choreography and style. See reviews for critics and press excerpts.
