We offer people 21-40 opportunities to meet people and volunteer.
It's hands-on leadership training through Community Action beyond what's available through employers or other organizations.
Members participate in as much as they'd like and only at events that interest them.

 Coming up in November:
- This Tuesday November 10th 8 pm Membership Meeting at Pinerock Firehouse. 722 Longhill Ave. Side entrance. In addition to project reports and upcoming events planning, we'll elect our Board of Directors for 2010!
- Tuesday Nov. 17th at 7:30 pm Blythe will be running an Arts & Crafts Fair planning meeting at Panera bread. Details below.
- Thursday Nov. 19th at 7:30 pm Melissa will be running a Beer & Wine Tasting Open House planning meeting at her place. Details below.
- Saturday Nov. 21st 2 pm - 6 pm Shelton Jaycees Tuner Fe(a)st 2009! at Riverwalk Park. It's another first time project, this one chaired by Tom Simpkins. This Food Drive, Toys for Tots Drive and Tuner Car Show & Shine will be a blast! Details below.

- Wednesday Dec. 2nd 7:30 pm Nikole will be running a Holiday Gifts Shopping /(Sponsor a Kid) planning meeting at Dunkin Donuts on Rte 34 in Seymour. Details below.
- Sunday Dec. 6th 6:30 pm Blythe will be running a Best Wings in The Valley Open House planning meeting at Archie Moores in Derby. Details Below.
- Tuesday Dec. 8th 8 pm 2nd Tuesday Monthly membership meeting at Pinerock Firehouse.
- Thursday Dec. 31st New Years Eve party / recon event. The best ideas are stolen! Project chair Kris wants organized reconnaissance to bring back the best ideas for running a large scale new years eve. project in 2010-11. Details below

November Membership Meeting This Tuesday the 10th - Please attend
|
Tuesday Nov. 10th 8 pm - 9:15 pm at Pinerock Firehouse 722 Long Hill Avenue in Shelton.
In addition to some quick announcements about the results from on our October events and some planning for upcoming events, we will be electing our 2010 Board of Directors.
(After the meeting everyone is invited to raise a glass and toast our incoming BOD and a very successful October)

2010 Arts & Crafts Fair Planning Meeting
|
Tuesday Nov. 17th at 7:30 pm Blythe will be running our 46th Annual Arts & Crafts Fair planning meeting at Panera Bread 850 Bridgeport Avenue.
The Shelton Jaycees Arts and Crafts Fair is a community tradition. Always the first Sunday in June on the Huntington Green, it's become a signature project for our organization.
At this meeting we'll need to set vendor prices and make some advertising & marketing decisions among other things.

| Beer & Wine Tasting O.H. Planning Meeting
|
 Thursday Nov. 19th at 7:30 pm Melissa will be running a Beer & Wine Tasting Open House planning meeting at her place.
Pass the word, OUT OF CONTROL PARTY AT MELISSA'S PLACE!!!
(No dancing on the table this time Jarid, our insurance won't cover injuries from falls over three feet.) Seriously though, the purpose of this event is to recruit more new members. With everyone's help and a little elbow grease we can get this project up and running before the end of the year. We'll need help with the logistics, supplies location etc, and we'll need help getting a crowd of prospective new members to attend and sign up for membership. Shelton Jaycees Tuner Fe(a)st 2009!

Saturday Nov. 21st 2
pm - 6 pm Shelton Jaycees Tuner Fe(a)st 2009! at Riverwalk Park 100 Canal St. in Shelton (Rain Date Sun. 11/22) This is first time project chaired by new member Tom Simpkins. It's a Food
Drive, Toys for Tots Drive and Tuner Car Show & Shine! Proceeds will benefit the Shelton Jaycees, ACT Spooner House Shelter & Valley Food Bank and the USMC Toys for Tots program. 22 categories of Tuner Cars & Low Riders will compete for 1st & 2nd place trophies. 2nd 7:30 pm Nikole will be running a Holiday Gifts Shopping /(Sponsor a Kid) planning meeting at Dunkin Donuts on Rte 34 in Seymour. (356 Roosevelt Dr, Seymour, CT). This project involves "adopting" a child or family's holiday wish list, shopping for the items, and then having a wrapping party before dropping off the donations at the BGHS foundation offices. Sunday Dec. 6th 6:30 pm Blythe will be running
a Best Wings in The Valley Open House Planning Meeting at Archie Moore's
17 Elizabeth St in Derby. Just like the Beer & Wine Tasting above, the purpose of a Best Wings Open House is to recruit more new members. Many hands make light work. Again we'll need help with the
logistics, supplies location etc, and we'll need help again getting a crowd
