September Special Membership Meeting This Tuesday the 8th - Please attend
|
Tuesday Sept. 8th 8 pm - 9:15 pm at NOT AT THE FIRE HOUSE! The firehouse was not available due to a regional dept. meeting.
Instead we'll be meeting at the Greater Valley Chamber of Commerce offices. 900 Bridgeport Ave. 2nd floor above Wachovia Bank (between Burger King & Stop & Shop).
In addition to some quick announcements about the results from on our August events plus some planning for upcoming events, we have the task to find the very best and most productive ways we can spend thousands of dollars.
In order for this to be a success for our chapter, we need as many members and potential members as possible to attend and discuss. Please be on time. We will be starting exactly at 8 pm. We'll need to bring all our collective experience to bear. Every idea must be thoughtfully considered. We need serious ideas and we won't have time to fool around. We must be out of the Chamber offices within one hour and fifteen minutes.
Bring a pencil, it will be a short and very fast moving meeting!
(After the meeting everyone is invited to raise a glass and toast a very successful August)

Southbury Training School - Car Show Support
|
Sunday September 20th at Southbury Training School at least three of us will be helping the Roaring 20s Car Club run their annual car show. Bob D'Amico and his crew helped us at our show big time. We'd like to return the favor. If you'd like to be part of the Shelton Jaycees work crew, you don't have to judge cars. They also need help with everything from parking spectators, collecting money from spectators and more.

Kid Safe Halloween Sat Oct. 31st 6 pm at Pinerock Firehouse 722 Longhill Ave. For more years than anyone can remember, the Shelton Jaycees have been helping the Pinerock Park Volunteer Fire Department host their annual Kid Safe Halloween. The Fire Dept helps us by providing a free meeting room, helping us with our flower sale, loaning us tables for the Arts & Crafts Fair, and recently providing a generator for our Car Show. This is one way we help them in return. They provide the halloween candy, 75-100 costumed children, and several kiddie carnival games. We help by providing volunteers to run as many games as possible. Sign up September 8th at Tuesday's membership meeting.
